SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: April 2026

SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: April 2026

Welcome to the April SimplyKyra Monthly Overview. A once-a-month roundup of app updates, blog highlights, and a few extras from behind the scenes. Nothing too serious, just a cozy way to stay connected. ๐Ÿ’•

I know inboxes can get crowded, so this one stays intentionally low-key. If you ever prefer only these monthly summaries (or want to adjust your subscriptions), you can update your settings at the bottom of this email.

๐Ÿก This Month with Me

April felt full in a good way. Looking back through my photos I can't believe Spring break was this month as it felt way longer ago. Nothing epically amazing happened.. let the kids sleep in while I worked then took them out the odd afternoon and fit in orthodontist appointments (they were thrilled).

I did give my first presentation at a Moms in Tech event on the 17th walking a virtual room through Apple development from idea to App Store. I wasn't sure how it would land, and it went really well. It's the kind of thing that still feels a little surreal once it's over.

If you're currently developing apps or interested at a peek behind the curtain I shared it all in this write up.

๐Ÿ“ฑ App Updates

Simply Remember It

When did you lastโ€ฆ? Now you know with no second-guessing required.

With shared tasks now out I started testing it with my family and seeing exactly what might be less than ideal. This patch, 2.2.1, was the result.

Simply Customize It

Make your reMarkable truly yours with custom templates and screens.

No new release this month, but some minor updates are in progress. I keep an eye on everything coming in, so feel free to keep messages coming.

Games

I looked over both games checking for accessibility over the last month or so and both apps were updated as a result... funnily both are on 1.1.1 now. Both games got updates this month, with a focus on accessibility and some additional polish. If at any point you see something that needs updating please feel free to reach out.

Simply Uncover It

A calm, intuitive twist on the classic Minesweeper puzzle.

This update mainly just updated accessibility including fixes for better VoiceOver and reduced motion.

Simply Match It

A fast-paced, multiplayer race to spot the match before your friends do.

While this update went beyond accessibility and also added onboarding and a sample board for new players making it feel more complete.

๐Ÿ“šOn the Blog

There was more than normal this month...

Last month I was fully into Project Hail Mary and near the end came across a LEGO version of Rocky and barely finished it before the month was out. I considered waiting until after April Fools... and decided why not kicking off the month with both a post and a short video featuring it.
I'd been working out consistently but at different levels over the past years and shared it here under a Consistency Over Perfection angle... and shared a quick reel here. The base logic can be applied to anything and expanded to a gentle check-in process.
Started a mini blog series of bite-sized content I called Life Snapshot. Started with an attempt and moving quicker in the morning and then followed that up with Zoey's Contacts. Let me know if you have any requests!

๐Ÿ’ป Coming Up Next

Simply Customize It is next up for a small update... nothing dramatic, just some things I've been wanting to tighten.

I'm also exploring a few personal projects that aren't quite ready to talk about yet and looking back at the paused apps I dabbled in before Simply Remember It. Mulling over what I should share, pause, and continue.

As always, I'd genuinely love your input:

  • What do you enjoy most about the apps or the site?
  • What would you like to see supported more gently or more clearly?

Just hit reply. I read every note.

๐ŸŒฟ Something Extra

I quietly pushed out a few nature videos this month... no talking, no agenda. Just a slow moment to pause.

Plus we got neighbors! A robin decided the spot right under our eaves was the ideal place to set up this spring. Hard to argue with the location, honestly. Attempting to capture and edit a nature reel or two.

As always any nature videos are shared on Instagram (reels/portrait only) and Youtube (both types).

๐Ÿ’Œ A Note on Preferences

Thanks for being here ๐Ÿ’•

I'm so grateful for your support as I keep building, learning, and sharing... one calm step at a time.

Until next month,

โ€” Kyra
