Simply Uncover It 1.1.1: Built for Everyone
I ran an accessibility audit on Simply Uncover It this month which I'm really glad I did as there were gaps I didn't expect. The return-to-game flow wasn't properly flagged for VoiceOver which wasn't too surprising... what did surprise me was the onboarding flow had somehow gotten loose at some point and needed re-hooking and there were a couple of spelling mistakes that I'm choosing not to dwell on.
Going through the app screen by screen with accessibility in mind changed how I saw it. It's a calm, simple game, and it should feel that way for everyone who uses it.
VoiceOver
VoiceOver was the biggest check with support now woven through more of the app, including the game board interactions and the return-to-game button.
Mac Sharing
In the last update I'd added sharing to the game result and had since noticed, when AirDropping to my Mac it didn't see it as an image. I switched the share type and it now works.
Accessibility Page
Right after sharing this post I plan to publish the accessibility support details on the App Store page for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. VoiceOver, Voice Control, Dark Interface, Larger Text, Differentiate Without Color Alone, Sufficient Contrast, and Reduced Motion will now all be listed officially.
If you notice anything off please reach out by either replying to this email, commenting on this post, or emailing me at mail@SimplyKyra.com.
