SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: September 2026

I'll admit I've been putting this one off. The 1st is only two days away (at the time of starting this) but I really wanted to get the iPhone Duo updates submitted before sitting down to write... so here I am, a little later than planned, pausing the updates to finally write this.

🏡 This Month with Me

September took a little while to get going. The kids started school, I got back to working out more regularly (I know it makes me feel better), and I slowly found my rhythm again after August's vacation.

📱 App Updates

Not as many updates this month... though I've been working on updating all the apps to work with the newly announced iPhone Duo (recently got access to the simulator... I don't plan to buy the phone) and in the process noticed a few more things. Those updates are coming soon.

Simply TBR

Your reading list, organized and visible so you always know what's next.

It started with me having trouble importing a new Libby book right after I got back... and then I noticed how clunky it felt to add a quick book to test something out. So this update lets you add by search, refreshes the share cards, fixes that Libby import, and even tidies up the Help & Support section.

Simply Remember It

When did you last…? Now you know with no second-guessing required.

By request (thanks for emailing) there's an added toggle in settings where you can switch between showing the date you last logged the task or showing how long it's been letting you skip the math. By default it shows the date but you can now switch it... Not sure which you want? Both are shown on the task's display.

Simply Customize It

Make your reMarkable truly yours with custom templates and screens.

No new features this month... but there are a couple of things to mention.

If you're interested in sleep screen images I recently branched out and put together a pack of images (either landscape or portrait mode) sized for each reMarkable, all taken at Maligne Lake in Jasper, Alberta, Canada. I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in this so starting with just these sets... that said, if there's any other photo I've shared in the past you'd prefer, let me know and I can make another pack to add to my Gumroad or Etsy storefronts.

More seriously, two of you emailed about SVG images giving you trouble (thanks for sending me your SVG files) and although I was able to duplicate the issue on my own reMarkable Paper Pro I couldn't fix it. I debated sharing with all of you but instead posted the question on Reddit (in the hopes of seeing how widespread it might be) but no one has (update: about to send this out but one person just has) commented and then the month got away from me. If you've run into this too let me know or feel free to comment so we can figure out what might be happening.

Games

There were no new updates for my other apps, Simply Uncover It and Simply Match It, this month, but I always keep an eye on emails and questions coming in… so feel free to keep them coming!

📚On the Blog

I felt like I didn't do much this month then realized, when putting this together, that I published three posts. The first shares where Simply TBR pulls your books from, while the other two are more personal: one showing stop from our vacation at Maligne Lake and the other a weekend rearranging my own office after my husband finished his.

💻 Coming Up Next

By the time you read this I hope the iPhone Duo updates will be submitted to the App Store and I'll share them, under App Updates, as they're approved. Once that's done, barring any emails, I plan to finalize Android versions of Simply Remember It and Simply Customize It.
