Getting Ready for the iPhone Duo

Recently Apple announced the new iPhone Duo and I immediately used the docs and videos to look over my apps... then waited. More recently they released the Duo simulator and I was able to use it to see how each of my apps held up. During this process several of the apps picked up more updates either from me noticing UI issues or from submitted crash reports or emails from you.

Rather than send you five emails as each update went out, I published them quietly and saved this overview so you can see everything in one place. I know how cluttered inboxes can get.

Simply Customize It - 1.4.5

Whenever there's something that might affect all the apps I either leave Simply Customize It last or deal with it first as any solution I choose needs to work here or I keep working on it. This app has the most people using it and I don't want to make any changes that affect any of you negatively.

This time around I worked on this app first... and despite most of the changes being iPhone Duo related I also went through my crash reports and fixed two issues that may have caused them.

Simply TBR - 1.3.0

This update is my biggest one from the set and includes a new sheet to explain what changed to all of you. As such, if you use this app, you may already know about it.

Beyond the Duo-related changes I also, while working on another idea, realized you may want to quickly choose a book from your Home Screen using the Stack widget and so added a lucky spin button there that opens straight into your default randomizer. It didn't seem major enough to push so I waited to share...

While using the Duo simulator I received an email letting me know the Amazon U.K. store wasn't working for them. That led to me adding a way to change your Amazon store. Since I can't test most storefronts myself, I also made Health Check easier to reach, so when something isn't working I get the information I need to fix it for you.

Simply Remember It - 2.3.1

Like Simply Customize It this is a smaller update consisting of all the Duo-related UI changes... making this maybe the smallest of the updates.

Simply Uncover It - 1.1.4

Back at the end of August the kids were given Simply Uncover It to entertain them while waiting and at some point they found an edge number that looked and acted like a button. I got a screenshot but had no idea how to reproduce it... but did delve into how the numbers were displayed and attempted to fix it. So this update contains that and the iPhone Duo related changes.

Simply Match It - 1.1.4

This update, like many others, only dealt with iPhone Duo-related changes. That said, this app was more problematic as the others as the extra space on one side of the screen made the buttons uneven, so I had to even them out. Some text wrapping is still occurring but overall it looks much improved.

I'm not planning on buying the Duo for myself but I am glad I could update all the apps so if one of you buys it the apps will simply work. And, as always, if anything looks off on your device, Duo or not, just hit reply. I read every note.
