Simply TBR 1.1.1: Seeing It for the First Time

Simply TBR 1.1.1: Seeing It for the First Time

The other day I installed Simply TBR on my kids phone in case they want to use it (they're great quality assurance testers) and noticed the sheet I use to share the last major update was showing on new installs which makes sense given why it showed, but could be confusing for someone new to the app.. That needed to change!

What Changed

A Proper First Hello

I created a short welcome flow with five slides and two spots to jump out and start adding your own books to your stack. If you install the app on a new device it should show up for you... and if you're already using Simply TBR you can find it under Settings under More Information.

Settings, Reorganized

That leads to settings itself. With the addition of the Welcome Tour I realized it needed a bit of tidying up. I moved Reading Stats under Manage, both Welcome Tour and What's New into More Information at the bottom so Help & Support feels less mixed up,

Accent Color, In More Places

When your book doesn't have a cover I've been showing a variety of shades of my base accent color. I realized if you change your accent color you may want the book covers to be updated too. As such, both in app and on the widgets, your books will reflect the accent color you want. It's a small thing, but it makes your stack feel a little more like yours.

One Less Confirmation

Editing a book and backing out right away used to trigger a "confirm changes" prompt even though you hadn't changed anything. That's annoying... and so that's now fixed... cancel with no changes now simply cancels.

All small things, but they add up to a better first impression, and a calmer everyday one too.

Thanks for following along. And like always... I hope you're having a fantastic day.
