SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: September 2025
Welcome to the very first SimplyKyra Monthly Overview! 💕 A once-a-month roundup of app updates, blog highlights, and a few extras from behind the scenes. Nothing too serious, just a cozy way to stay connected.
I know inboxes can get crowded so this one’s low-key and just once a month. If at any time you’d rather only get these summaries (or adjust what else you’re subscribed to) you can update your settings at the bottom of this email.
🏡 This Month with Me
This past month brought back-to-school chaos with my kids now at two different schools so I’m logging even more walks to the bus stop. My phone roll shows it: bugs galore (mostly… partially… for them) and sunrise shots for me!

We also boarded the same K-Pop Demon Hunters train that’s taking over the internet. We’re not usually a rewatch-movie family, but one kid has watched it several times and still has the soundtrack on repeat… while the other is officially over it. After Halloween, I can share how our Rumi costume turns out.
📱 App Updates
Simply Remember It
When did you last…? Now you know with no second-guessing required.
- When first released, streak logic defaulted to daily. That worked fine for avoidance tasks (things you don’t want to complete) but not for habits. Now streaks for habits and monitored tasks respect your set repeat window with an added grace period. That means your “twice a week,” “every 49 days,” or even yearly tasks can keep the streak going.
Simply Customize It
Make your reMarkable truly yours with custom templates and screens.
- With the launch of the reMarkable Paper Pro Move I finalized an update that added support for templating files and the ability to download both
PNG
andSVG
images too. - I wrote a comparison post for anyone considering the Paper Pro Move.
- I also quietly launched a simple template builder to generate grid, lined, or dotted templating files. It’s still in development, but live if you’d like to try.

I walked through the full restore process, after the last major reMarkable update, and made sure to record it in case you prefer the video format. including a video tutorial.
Simply Uncover It
A calm, intuitive twist on the classic Minesweeper puzzle.
- Added an Apply button to the game settings so you can switch between game setting setups without resetting the board (unless you want to).
Simply Match It
A fast-paced, multiplayer race to spot the match before your friends do.
- In addition to adding the same Apply button as in Simply Uncover It I also improved the board with clearer button text across chosen colors and updated the corner button animations (in 3- and 4-player games) with smoother curved countdowns.
💻 Coming Up Next
This month I’m diving into widgets for Simply Remember It so the task you’re tracking is just a quick glance away... right from your home screen.
I’ve also had a couple of requests for Android versions so I’ve started setting aside time to explore tutorials and see what might be possible.
Looking ahead, I’d love your input. What do you enjoy most about the apps or website? And what would you like to see improved or added? Just hit reply and let me know!
🌿 Something Extra
Not everyone is on social media, but over the past couple of months I’ve been more active on Instagram... and I’ve wanted to create a little pause + breathe moment, away from the busy.
That’s how the weekly Calm Nature Reset was born. Each week I share a short video to help you take a breath and reset.
You can catch up anytime with the full YouTube playlist of everything that’s live so far.
💌 A Note on Preferences
You’re receiving this email because you signed up for one (or both) of my other newsletters: App Updates and Blog Updates.
I’ve now added a third option (Monthly Overview) a once-a-month roundup that highlights what’s new, what I’ve been working on, and a little extra behind-the-scenes.
If you’d like to change what you receive, you can always manage your subscriptions anytime on your account page by tapping update your preferences.
Thanks for being here 💕 I’m so grateful for your support as I keep building, learning, and sharing.
Until next month,
— Kyra
