SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: November 2025

SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: November 2025

I started today proud of myself... the night before I remembered to share my weekend recap to Instagram Stories, pulled out the kids’ advent calendars, and felt surprisingly organized… right up until I remembered I never wrote the November recap email.

I’d planned to finish some widget testing first (making sure Simply Remember It's metrics were behaving!) but decided this was more immediate. So in between bus runs and then in that calm quiet afterward I sat down to get this one ready for you.

Welcome back to the SimplyKyra Monthly Overview!

I know inboxes can get crowded, so this one stays intentionally low-key. If you ever prefer only these monthly summaries (or want to adjust your subscriptions), you can update your settings at the bottom of this email.

🏡 This Month with Me

After October’s chaos, I found myself leaning into simple progress, family time, and small wins that helped rebuild momentum. November had a quieter rhythm with savoring time with my family over Thanksgiving break, feeling the quiet expectation of Christmas settle in, and finding small wins in my workout routine.

Combined with rediscovering my excitement for Simply Remember It after last month’s data issue this month felt reflective but determined... a gentle, steady forward motion.

📱 App Updates

Simply Remember It

When did you last…? Now you know with no second-guessing required.

This month brought version 1.0.4, a small but meaningful update for me because it confirmed that the foundation for widget development is solid and moving in the right direction.

If you’ve updated then your data is already migrated so it can be shared between the app and its upcoming widgets. Your tasks, measurements, and history remain exactly the same (private and fully under your control) just stored in a smarter place.

Like with last month with Simply Customize It I also used this update to move its changelog out of the FAQs.

There were no new updates for my other apps this month, though I always keep an eye on emails and questions coming in… so feel free to keep them coming!

📚On the Blog

November ended up being shaped by mindset work with a pair of posts that reflect resilience, rebuilding, and that indie-dev emotional rollercoaster:

When the Fix Isn’t in the Code
When you’re stuck (whether in code, creativity, or life) the fix isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes it’s about stepping sideways and seeing it differently.

A look at the moments where debugging your mindset becomes just as important as debugging your code.

The Month I Lost My Data… and Found My Spark Again
A behind-the-scenes look at a real indie dev moment: losing my data, fixing the data migration, and rediscovering why I built Simply Remember It.

A vulnerable retelling of losing data… and how it led to feeling more sure of what I am building.

To balance the introspection I also finally finished a long-overdue post with photos I took back in September of 2024!

Silver Peak Trail Near Snoqualmie Pass
A scenic photo guide to Silver Peak Trail near Snoqualmie Pass with tips on road conditions, parking passes, trail turn-offs, and epic views from the talus field!

A photo-filled hike from over a year ago that I’d touched here and there. It felt good to finally give it space and share it.

💻 Coming Up Next

I’m continuing to work on widgets for Simply Remember It along with more detailed debugging, with the plan to release everything together on January 5th. I'm part testing, part refining, part dreaming about where this could grow. Now that the foundation feels steady again I’m even more excited about the possibilities.

If there’s anything you’d like improved in this next update, please reply and let me know.

On the Simply Customize It side, I’ve been thinking through a requested idea about transferring templates between devices. Nothing concrete yet, but it’s on my radar... and if that would be helpful for you, I’d love to hear it.

If there’s anything else you’d love to see next (a feature, tutorial, or blog topic), just hit reply. I always love hearing from you.

🌿 Something Extra

With Thanksgiving and quieter family days this month, I’ve been grateful for simple moments... small walks, frozen dew in fog, and tiny daily pauses.

The foreground is blurred offering a mid-ground of focused spider webbing on branches with frozen dew drops. The background has fog hidden silhouettes of trees.

My nature reels this month were recorded earlier (the one below at the end of October) but I continued capturing little moments for future calm-tech content.
