Dessert Pizza – Nutella and Oranges
Oven Temperature: 425° Fahrenheit
Earlier I posted about how I make my own pizza crust. One day when I went to make pizza I had some oranges on my counter that I wanted to use. This resulted in a Nutella and sliced orange topped pizza that turned out amazing! I wanted to share this simple way to change up your dessert pizza… especially if you also have a bowl of oranges you want to use.
- Your prebaked pizza crust
- Vanilla Extract
Preheating the oven to 425° Fahrenheit and prebaked your pizza crust. If you are using store-bought pizza dough or crust then follow their directions.
Peel and slice your oranges while the oven is preheating. Mix your honey mixture to top your pizza with. I mixed honey, vanilla extract, and cinnamon together, to taste, ahead of time.
Make your dessert pizza
Once the pizza crust came out of the oven pre-baked I then dropped dollops of Nutella on top of the crust and spread it to cover. It’s hard to spread but the heat from the crust softens it so it’s easier to spread. Once you have a layer of Nutella down I then laid out my oranges. Depending how many oranges you have you can cover the whole pizza or lay it out in a decorative pattern. Remember if you put too many oranges on the pizza it might become a bit soggy from the oranges. I finally drizzled my honey, vanilla, and cinnamon mixture over the oranges to add some more sweetness to the pizza. I then baked it for 5 minutes before slicing and eating it.
