Simply Remember It Update: Smarter Streaks, More Grace
Today’s update makes Simply Remember It feel more in tune with real life. Streaks now respect your task schedule whether that’s daily, weekly, monthly, or even once a decade. Plus a new grace window gives you breathing room so a streak doesn’t break just because you were a little early or late.

This update is available now on the App Store! Try it and let me know what you think!
Smarter Streaks

No Longer Just Daily
Previously, streaks assumed tasks were daily, which didn’t match real habits like:
- Clean the fridge every 2 weeks
- Deep clean (monthly)
- Yearly doctor checkups
Now, your streak respects the repeat settings you chose. Complete the task within its interval, and your streak continues!
Avoidance Streaks Stay Daily
Avoidance streaks are unchanged because when you’re avoiding something negative, every single day counts.
Added Grace Window
Life isn’t exact and sometimes streaks aren't either. The new grace window gives you a buffer so you can finish a task a little early or late without breaking your streak. Keep that momentum going!
- Defaults ±2 days
- Customize it per task or even define a default under Settings → Set Default Values
Example if you have a task set to every 2 weeks with a ±2 day window then you can complete it anytime between 12–16 days and keep the streak alive.
Clearer Wording
Phrasing has been updated to read more naturally:
- Habits: 3 times streak → interval-aware, not locked to days
- Avoidance: Avoided for 24 days → kept in days, worded better
- Monitoring: Still shows habit or avoidance streaks, but the avoidance streak now displays: Last logged 24 days ago
Stability and Testing
I’ve been running Simply Remember It on the iOS 26 betas (iPhone and iPad) and recently updated my Mac to macOS 26.0 Tahoe. During testing, I noticed the in-app display of my app icon could occasionally cause a crash. Rather than patching it again and risking future issues, I chose to remove it entirely. This keeps things safer and doesn’t affect how you actually use the app.
