Simply Remember It 2.1.0: Remember It... Together
This update has been in the back of my mind for a while and I'm proud to say that version one of it feels ready.
Simply Remember It has always been about lightening your mental load. But some of the things we track aren't just ours... they belong to a whole household.
Who last gave the dog their medication?
When did we last change the furnace filter?
Has anyone rotated the car seats lately?
With 2.1.0, you don't have to carry those questions alone anymore.
2.1 is out live on iPhone and iPad. If you use Simply Remember It on Mac, don’t worry... the update was submitted at the same time to Apple and is currently in review.
What's New?
Introducing Together
Together is a new subscription tier that includes everything you already had with Unlimited (all your charting, widgets, and history) plus the ability to share tasks with other Apple devices. All kept within Apple's infrastructure.
When you share a task, whether it's with one person or several, you stay in control of the task itself. But anyone in the group can log it. The entries tab now shows who logged what, so nothing falls through the cracks, and no one has to ask.
Logged something wrong? The task owner can edit or delete any entry. People you've invited can edit or delete only their own.
And your personal preferences stay yours:
- Have a color scheme you love? Keep it.
- Prefer to see metrics or skip them? You choose.
When a task is shared with you, the category, metrics toggle, and summary icon can all be customized on your device... without changing anything for anyone else.
It's designed the same way everything else in this app is: no pressure, no noise, no judgment. Just a shared record that's there when you need it.
Renaming Premium
With the new tier in place, we've renamed Premium to Unlimited because that's what it actually is. If sharing isn't something you need, it stays exactly what it's always been.
Expected Questions
If I want to share with someone who doesn't have a subscription… can I?
Definitely. Only the person sharing the task needs the Together subscription. If your friend has no subscription, they can still see and log shared tasks... and those don't count toward their free limits. They won't have access to the Charting area unless they have Unlimited, but they can log.
A task was shared with me. What can I do with it?
You can customize how it looks in your app, but you can't change the task itself unless you're the owner. Other than that, use it just like your own: log it, add it to widgets, and view charts (Unlimited required for charting).
How do I share a task?
Upgrade to Together in Settings. Once you have it, a Share button will appear at the bottom of any task detail you own.
What gets shared?
The task itself, including its tracked measurements and full history. When you share, you share the full picture.
I shared a task and no longer want to.
You can stop sharing at any time from the bottom of the task detail using either "Stop sharing this task" or "Adjust Sharing." Existing entries will remain under your Entries tab. It may still appear briefly if someone's app is open, but it'll be gone once it syncs.
I joined a shared task and want to leave.
You can leave anytime from the Sharing section at the bottom of the task detail.
I left (or stopped sharing) and changed my mind.
If a task was shared with you, check your original link to rejoin. If it's expired, ask for a new one. If you stopped sharing, you can send a new link anytime.
Nothing is permanent. You can adjust as life changes.
A Quiet Launch
I'll be honest... I'm rolling this out slowly.
Before I make any noise about it, I'm planning to test this with my own family on the App Store build. Sharing features have a lot of moving parts, and I want to make sure it feels as calm in real life as it does in my head.
I'm looking forward to Zoey marking her own contacts as done. And sharing cleaning tasks and chores. I genuinely can't wait to see how we end up using it.
So consider this a soft hello. If you've been waiting for a way to loop someone else in, it's here. And if something feels off, I genuinely want to know.
Most of what makes Simply Remember It useful is invisible.
You log something. You stop wondering. You move on.
My hope is that Together feels exactly the same.... with just a little more company.
