            SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: October 2025
Welcome back to the SimplyKyra Monthly Overview! Your once-a-month peek at what’s new across apps, blog posts, and a few personal highlights. Whether you’re here for creative reMarkable tools, cozy DIYs, or a calm dose of tech inspiration, I’m so glad you’re here. 💕
I know inboxes can get crowded so this one’s intentionally low-key and just once a month. If at any time you’d rather only get these summaries (or adjust what else you’re subscribed to) you can update your settings at the bottom of this email.
🏡 This Month with Me
October felt like equal parts cozy and busy... a month I’d planned for quiet behind-the-scenes app tinkering that somehow turned into Halloween costume chaos and two separate power outages in the final week.

📱 App Updates
Simply Remember It
When did you last…? Now you know with no second-guessing required.
- I’ve been diving into widgets so your tracked tasks can appear right on your Home Screen. No updates this month but I've been making steady progress.
Simply Customize It
Make your reMarkable truly yours with custom templates and screens.
- The work on Simply Remember It led to updated navigation flow in both it and Simply Customize It. This update went live on the 20th with version 1.0.17.
- Thanks to community feedback I realized templates on the reMarkable Paper Pro Move needed new dimensions (814×1454 px) while screen images still use the official size. Version 1.0.18 went live on the 28th.
- This last week I received both an email and a 1-star review for the same issue. Default templates were lost when the Upload button was pressed before importing. I quickly pushed version 1.0.19 and it went live on the 31st! It locks the button until your first import or sync successfully completes with your reMarkable.
- In addition, I moved the changelog out of the FAQs (it was getting long!) and refined the FAQs to make it clearer.
🎃 On the Blog
It was definitely a Halloween month! I don’t usually dress up, but this year I joined a local business meetup group that hosted two themed events. This led to two unplanned posts featuring my Ada Lovelace costume and a spider themed Tech Witch look.

For my planned content, I revisited last year’s kid costumes and realized it was time to create a full, ever-updating Halloween Costume Roundup post.

💻 Coming Up Next
With the latest Simply Customize It updates wrapped, I’m shifting focus back to Simply Remember It and aiming to add Home Screen widgets with streak counts and quick-completion buttons. Once widgets are dialed in I can expand the system to other apps more easily if there’s interest.
I’ve also had a request to add the ability to transfer templates between devices in Simply Customize It something I plan to explore further.
If there’s something you’d love to see (a blog topic, feature, or even a tutorial idea), hit reply and let me know... I’d love to hear from you!
🌿 Something Extra
This month’s calm-tech moment: a reel featuring pelicans floating on and flapping over the ocean waves.

💌 A Note on Preferences
You’re receiving this email because you signed up for Monthly Overview a once-a-month roundup that highlights what’s new, what I’ve been working on, and a little extra behind-the-scenes.
I also send App Updates and Blog Updates separately if you prefer more frequent news. You can update what you receive anytime through your account page and tapping update your preferences.
Thanks so much for reading and for continuing to support SimplyKyra. It means the world. 💕
I had planned to share this tomorrow, but with Halloween tonight, a rainstorm on the way, and the fear of the possibility of another power outage… I think I’ll hit publish now and let myself sink into some code.
Hope you have a wonderful Halloween... and until next month,
— Kyra
