SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: January 2026

SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: January 2026

Welcome to the first SimplyKyra Monthly Overview of 2026! 💕

I started this newsletter back in September and it feels exciting to cross into a new year together.

If this is your first one, welcome! And if not welcome back! These are nothing too serious, just a cozy way to stay connected.

I know inboxes can get crowded, so this one stays intentionally low-key. If you ever prefer only these monthly summaries (or want to adjust your subscriptions), you can update your settings at the bottom of this email.

🏡 This Month with Me

January started as a month of settling in... though it’s also felt surprisingly long. It feels like forever since I wrote the last email.

I’ve been trying to notice more and thinking a lot about how I actually use my own tools day-to-day, especially now that the Simply Remember It widget update is out. I’ve been thinking about what genuinely helps life feel a little lighter instead of more structured-for-the-sake-of-it.

That theme quietly shaped most of what I shared this month.

📱 App Updates

Simply Remember It

When did you last…? Now you know with no second-guessing required.

January was a big one here:

  • Version 2.0.0 launched with widgets making check-ins available right from your home screen. No pressure, just quick visibility.
  • Follow-up updates 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 focused on calm refinements and small fixes that help things stay put and feel smoother.

The widget update really marked a shift toward glanceable support letting the app work quietly in the background instead of asking for attention.

Simply Customize It

Make your reMarkable truly yours with custom templates and screens.

This month consisted of a simple stability-focused update. Nothing major. Just calm upkeep to keep things running smoothly.

Games

There were no changes for my other apps, Simply Uncover It and Simply Match It, this month. They’re in a quiet maintenance phase for now, but I always keep an eye on emails and questions coming in, so feel free to keep them coming.

📚On the Blog

If you like reading I started the month sharing my favorite books from 2025.

From there, I focused on how I used Simply Remember It and began sharing gentle systems I’ve noticed actually work... on their own, on paper, or with the app:

Toward the end of the month, I also started thinking about preparedness especially for solo hikes and unpredictable weather. That led to a calm, non-technical guide to iPhone Shortcuts and built-in tools for preparedness, written with reliability, clarity, and no panic in mind.

💻 Coming Up Next

I keep having requests for an Android version of Simply Remember It and now that widgets are out I've started to set aside time to explore what that might look like.

As always, I’d genuinely love your input:

  • What do you enjoy most about the apps or the site?
  • What would you like to see supported more gently or more clearly?

You can just hit reply... I read every note.

🌿 Something Extra

January's nature videos included a foggy landscape and a heron landing... quiet pauses that fit the same philosophy as the apps: reminders that not everything needs optimizing.

That said, I wanted to pass along a small iPhone tip in case you didn’t realize it:

You can temporarily turn off Face ID when you need a little extra control or privacy.

💌 A Note on Preferences

You’re receiving this email because you signed up for Monthly Overview a once-a-month roundup that highlights what’s new, what I’ve been working on, and a little extra behind-the-scenes.

I also offer App Updates and Blog Updates if you prefer more frequent notes. You can manage what you receive anytime through your account page.

Thanks for being here 💕

I’m so grateful for your support as I keep building, learning, and sharing... one calm step at a time.

Until next month,

— Kyra
