SimplyKyra Monthly Overview: December 2025
This has been a year of quiet building.
Of responding to what people needed.
Of learning new things ... and sometimes flipping upside down just to meet a stand goal.
Thank you for being here for all of it. 💕
🏡 This Month with Me
December was good... a slightly strange mix of relaxing, working, and realizing I didn’t actually do much resting at all. I didn’t finish any books this month, but there were lots of short bursts of productivity layered on top of a steady, quiet pace of progress.
Somewhere in the middle of it all, I noticed I need to slow down and breathe more often. I’ve felt the pull to learn everything at once (debating Android development, marketing, and how to make sense of the constant fire hose of information I want to learn) without yet finding the right way to fit that learning into the time I actually have.
It’s something I’m still figuring out, but noticing it feels like an important first step.
📱 App Updates
Simply Remember It
When did you last…? Now you know with no second-guessing required.
I spent much of December finishing the 2.0.0 update for Simply Remember It and I’m so excited to share it with you on January 5th. As I was writing this I hit submit to the App Store!
This update focuses on making Simply Remember It feel more present in your day, without demanding more attention. It includes:
- Widgets — three Home Screen widgets and one Lock Screen widget, designed for quiet awareness at a glance
- Shortcuts & Siri — default measurement values and faster logging through Shortcuts, with support for automations and Siri requests across devices
- Vision support — the iPad version now runs on Vision, so widgets are available no matter which device you’re using
- Polish and refinements — small feature additions and behind-the-scenes improvements that make everything feel smoother and more natural
This is the first major version bump for Simply Remember It, and not because everything changed, but because how it fits into real life.
Simply Customize It
Make your reMarkable truly yours with custom templates and screens.
December brought an unexpected surprise with the reMarkable 3.25 beta on both my Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move. After sharing an initial reaction, I dug into what had changed, specifically around the new rotating sleep screen overlay, and explored how to turn it off safely.
That exploration resulted in two quick updates to Simply Customize It, followed by a step-by-step post showing how to disable the overlay yourself if you prefer to tinker directly. I also finally updated my long-standing tutorial on uploading custom templates, bringing it in line with the latest reMarkable changes.
Games
There were no new updates for my other apps, Simply Uncover It and Simply Match It, this month, but I always keep an eye on emails and questions coming in… so feel free to keep them coming!
💻 Coming Up Next
Once Simply Remember It 2.0 is live, I plan to spend some time figuring out how best to share it (thoughtfully and without noise) with the people it might genuinely help.
Beyond that, I’m standing at a small crossroads. I’ve been debating whether to start learning how to build Android apps or to let something entirely new take shape. I don’t have answers yet, and that feels okay.
Looking ahead, I’d love your input. What do you enjoy most about the apps or website? And what would you like to see improved or added? Just hit reply and let me know. I always love hearing from you.
📚On the Blog
With the holidays, I’ve seen a lot of gift guides and productivity lists floating around. Earlier this month, I shared a post that offered something quieter:

A living list of tools, resources, and everyday things I’ve used and loved over the years... shared honestly, without pressure.
Some are part of my daily rhythm, others I return to in waves, and a few are simply favorites that made life feel a little easier or calmer at the time. It felt like a gentle way to close out the year and a place I’ll continue updating as seasons change.
🌿 Something Extra
December’s videos were mainly quiet nature moments (herons, streams and waves, woodpeckers, and sea anemones) offering small pauses during a busy season.
That said, I couldn’t miss sharing how one tiny stand goal turned into a full mini spiral… and a reminder of why I care so much about building calm tools in the first place.

— Kyra
