This release lays the technical foundation the widgets need so they can show your upcoming tasks, let you quickly log completions, reschedule with a tap, and give you charting at a glance. Before, your data lived in the default iCloud location Apple assigns to every app. That worked great for the app alone, but widgets need a shared, central data store to stay fast and accurate. So this update quietly moves your data into a protected **App Group container** that both the app and widgets can access safely. Your tasks, measurements, and history remain exactly the same, private and fully under your control, just stored in a smarter place. ### One-Time Automatic Migration If you’ve used *Simply Remember It* before this update, the app will **automatically and quietly** move your existing data into its new shared space. It takes just a moment. You won’t see a popup. And you don’t need to do anything at all. If you’re installing the app for the first time, you won’t notice anything... you’re already set up in the new system. ### iCloud Sync Works the Same Your data will continue syncing through iCloud just as before. Nothing about your syncing, sharing, or device behavior changes. This update simply prepares the app for what’s coming next. If you use **Simply Remember It* on multiple devices, please update your other devices so you’re not working from two different data locations. This is a one-time step. After updating, everything stays in sync as usual. --- ## Why This Matters I’m building a set of new widgets for January so you can see at a glance: - see what’s due at a glance - quickly log something done - or simply reschedule it - view charts without opening the app For widgets to be **reliable, fast, and safe**, the app and widgets must share the same data store. This update puts that foundation in place so everything feels seamless when the new widgets arrive.
