Welcome to the first **SimplyKyra Monthly Overview** of 2026! 💕

I started this newsletter back in September and it feels exciting to cross into a new year together.

If this is your first one, *welcome!* And if not *welcome back!* These are nothing too serious, just a cozy way to stay connected.

I know inboxes can get crowded, so this one stays intentionally low-key. If you ever prefer only these monthly summaries (or want to adjust your subscriptions), you can update your settings at the bottom of this email.

## 🏡 This Month with Me

January started as a month of *settling in*... though it’s also felt surprisingly long. It feels like forever since I wrote the last email.

I’ve been trying to notice more and thinking a lot about how I actually use my own tools day-to-day, especially now that the [*Simply Remember It*](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/simply-remember-it/id6749085897?ref=simplykyra.com) widget update is out. I’ve been thinking about what genuinely helps life feel a little lighter instead of more structured-for-the-sake-of-it.

That theme quietly shaped most of what I shared this month.

## 📱 App Updates

### [Simply Remember It](https://www.simplykyra.com/simply-remember-it/)

*When did you last…? Now you know with no second-guessing required.*

[App Store: Remember It](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/simply-remember-it/id6749085897?ref=simplykyra.com)

January was a big one here:

- [Version 2.0.0](https://www.simplykyra.com/updates/simply-remember-it-2-0-quicker-access-gentler-check-ins/) launched with *widgets* making check-ins available right from your home screen. No pressure, just quick visibility.
- Follow-up updates [2.0.1](https://www.simplykyra.com/updates/simply-remember-it-2-0-1-a-small-calmer-update/) and [2.0.2](https://www.simplykyra.com/updates/simply-remember-it-2-0-2-small-fixes-that-help-things-stay-put/) focused on calm refinements and small fixes that help things stay put and feel smoother.

The widget update really marked a shift toward *glanceable support* letting the app work quietly in the background instead of asking for attention.

### [Simply Customize It](https://www.simplykyra.com/simply-customize-it/)

*Make your reMarkable truly yours with custom templates and screens.*

[App Store: Customize It](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/simply-customize-it/id6443862161?ref=simplykyra.com)

This month consisted of a [simple stability-focused update](https://www.simplykyra.com/updates/simply-customize-it-1-0-22-small-stability-fix/). Nothing major. Just calm upkeep to keep things running smoothly.

### Games

There were **no changes** for my other apps, [Simply Uncover It](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/simply-minesweeper/id6741166529?ref=simplykyra.com) and [Simply Match It](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/simply-match-it/id6741166537?ref=simplykyra.com), this month. They’re in a quiet maintenance phase for now, but I always keep an eye on [emails](mailto:mail@simplykyra.com?subject=SimplyKyra%20Games) and questions coming in, so feel free to keep them coming.

## 📚On the Blog

If you like reading I started the month sharing [my favorite books from 2025](https://www.simplykyra.com/blog/my-favorite-books-from-my-2025-reads/).

From there, I focused on how I used [*Simply Remember It*](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/simply-remember-it/id6749085897?ref=simplykyra.com) and began sharing [*gentle systems*](https://www.simplykyra.com/topic/gentle-productivity/)I’ve noticed actually work... on their own, on paper, or with the app:

- [Why I Stopped Setting Resolutions (and Started Doing Check-Ins)](https://www.simplykyra.com/blog/why-i-stopped-setting-resolutions-and-started-doing-check-ins/): A softer way to reflect and adjust, without the all-or-nothing mindset.
- [Things I Track That Don’t Belong on a To-Do List](https://www.simplykyra.com/blog/things-i-track-that-dont-belong-on-a-to-do-list/): A look at the kinds of life details that matter... yet shouldn’t live in task managers.
- [Gentle Habit Support: How Habits Actually Take Root](https://www.simplykyra.com/blog/gentle-habit-support-how-habits-actually-take-root/): Why consistency doesn’t have to mean rigidity.

Toward the end of the month, I also started thinking about preparedness especially for solo hikes and unpredictable weather. That led to a [calm, non-technical guide to iPhone Shortcuts and built-in tools for preparedness](https://www.simplykyra.com/blog/a-calm-non-technical-guide-to-using-iphone-shortcuts-and-built-in-tools-for-preparedness-learn-what-works-reliably-what-can-fail-and-how-to-set-things-up-ahead-of-time-without-panic-or/), written with reliability, clarity, and *no panic* in mind.

## 💻 Coming Up Next

I keep having requests for an Android version of [*Simply Remember It*](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/simply-remember-it/id6749085897?ref=simplykyra.com) and now that widgets are out I've started to set aside time to explore what that might look like.

As always, I’d genuinely love your input:

- What do you enjoy most about the apps or the site?
- What would you like to see supported more gently or more clearly?

You can just hit reply... I read every note.

---

## 🌿 Something Extra

January's nature videos included a [foggy landscape](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YU72R3-eEek&ref=simplykyra.com) and a [heron landing](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ef5Hq3XBcl4?ref=simplykyra.com)... quiet pauses that fit the same philosophy as the apps: reminders that not everything needs optimizing.

That said, I wanted to pass along a small iPhone tip in case you didn’t realize it:

You can temporarily ****turn off Face ID** when you need a little extra control or privacy.

## **💌 A Note on Preferences**

You’re receiving this email because you signed up for **Monthly Overview** a once-a-month roundup that highlights what’s new, what I’ve been working on, and a little extra behind-the-scenes.

I also offer **App Updates** and **Blog Updates** if you prefer more frequent notes. You can manage what you receive anytime through your [account page](#/portal/account).

---

Thanks for being here 💕

I’m so grateful for your support as I keep building, learning, and sharing... one calm step at a time.

Until next month,

— Kyra
